As highlighted by Trade Arabia on their website, DAMAC Properties, a top developer in the UAE, achieved significant construction milestones in DAMAC Lagoons, a huge project in Dubai. The construction of villas in Phase I are almost one month ahead of schedule.
A WATER-INSPIRED COMMUNITY
Located in the heart of Dubai and covering 4.5 million square metres, DAMAC Lagoons is the company’s third master development. This community brings Mediterranean-themed living to the UAE.
REMARKABLE PROGRESS
The project began in November 2021, and it's moving forward at a rapid pace. Work on 6,500 villas is underway, and they've accomplished this in less than two years. The community will include more than 9,000 villas, with 98% of the released units already sold.
A MASSIVE WORKFORCE
DAMAC Lagoons is at the centre of activity. More than 14,000 individuals work on-site daily, supported by over 100 excavators and more than 850 vehicles. So, it’s a major project with large ambitions.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FROM DAMAC
Currently, construction stands at 20%, with 6,459 villas spread across 13 clusters. An extra 1,432 villas (across 2 clusters) are in the final stages of appointing the main contractor, while 1,025 villas (across two clusters) are in the final design stages. Over 2,300 villas are already at or above the ground floor.
The project also has an impressive safety record, with over 13.6 million safe man-hours without any lost-time incidents. Safety and well-being are key.
WATER-INSPIRED FEATURES
Water takes centre stage in this community, with 176,650 sq. m of water spaces, equal to more than 141 Olympic-sized swimming pools. When completed, it's expected to be home to over 39,400 people.
LARGE CONTRACTS
According to Trade Arabia, the development has awarded over AED1 billion ($272 million) for infrastructure contracts and AED5.6 billion for villa construction contracts. So, the project is making a strong impact, bringing a piece of the Mediterranean to Dubai. Overall, it’s a futuristic and innovative project that will provide an ideal living environment for tens of thousands of people.
