HE Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak – UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP 28, UAE
With a career spanning more than two decades, HE Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak is passionate about accelerating change and raising awareness for sustainable development. Wearing numerous professional caps, Al Mubarak was previously the Secretary General of Environment Agency Abu Dhabi and current President of the International Union for Conservative Nature, the second woman to lead the 75-year-old organisation. She also serves as UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for the leadership team of COP28 UAE taking place in November later this year. Among her numerous accolades, Al Mubarak has led Abu Dhabi’s commitment in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030 and has helped with the UAE’s strategy around ground water reserve.
Alida Saleh, Head of Sustainability for the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region, JLL
Recently appointed to head up JLL’s sustainability agenda in the MEA region, Alida Saleh will focus on furthering the company’s ESG strategy this year. By highlighting its commitment to drive sustainable real estate, Alida will also focus on creating equal opportunities for communities across the region and fast-track efforts to reduce the impact of real estate on the environment, especially in the run-up to the UAE-hosted COP 28 climate summit. In addition to her new role at JLL, Alida also serves as a Senior Advisor to the UNFCCC Climate Champions Built Environment team.
Farah Naz, Climate Change Strategist and Author
Engineer and award-winning climate strategist, Farah Naz is the co-author of the MENA region’s first book on net zero cities. With a string of accomplishments to her name, Farah has worked on some of the region’s most iconic projects, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Museum of the Future and Expo 2020 Sustainability Pavilion and in 2022 scooped the title of Sustainability Leader of the Year at a major construction awards. She currently serves as the Director of ESG and Innovation at AECOM for the Middle East and Africa. By focusing on implementing best practices in the built environment, Farah employs the Five Capital model to build the foundations of cities of the future: sustainability, liveability, and inclusive innovation frameworks.
HE Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri – Minister of Climate Change and Environment, UAE
As the Minister of Climate Change and Environment in the UAE, HE Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri understands the urgency when it comes to preparing for a new climate reality. Speaking at the Atlantic Council last year, Almheiri stressed the importance of building regional alliances to address climate change and in investing in clean energy projects. Almheira was also recently appointed as the first female board member of First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).
Dina Storey, Senior Director UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators
LEED-certified sustainability expert, Dina Storey currently serves as the Senior Director for the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), a non-partisan body that strives to address climate challenges. Her previous role saw her look after the sustainability operations at Expo 2020 Dubai by looking at sustainable development and integration of sustainability into both the built environment and operations.
