Many people in the UAE, known as "long-stay guests," have made hotel rooms their homes. These people range anywhere from entrepreneurs to fitness coaches. In 2017, Rove Hotels introduced its long-stay packages. This includes all energy costs, housekeeping, laundry, Internet access, pool, and gym access. Several hotels also provide free breakfast too.
LONG-STAY OPTIONS ARE COST-EFFECTIVE AND CONVENIENT
The packages became popular during the Covid-19 pandemic, said Paul Bridger, COO of Rove Hotels. Consumers began looking for long-term, low-cost, and convenient solutions. So long-stay packages provide this with the addition of no annual contracts either. According to Bridger, these arrangements make hotel rooms less expensive than regular flat rentals. At present, Rove Hotels house around 300 long-term guests.
Every year, Premier Inn welcomes over 1.6 million visitors to its 11 hotels in the UAE and Qatar. 240,000 of these people stay for an extended time. These long-term visitors remain for 30 to 120 days. Some long-stay visitors are families new to the UAE who are negotiating a permanent living arrangement. Other visitors are entrepreneurs on a long-term work assignments.
New visas, such as those for freelancers and retirees, have resulted in a rise in long-term visitors. Monthly stays at Rove are popular with remote professionals, digital nomads, newcomers to Dubai, and locals. It's the flexibility of a monthly stay that attracts these kinds of people.
MINIMAL PAPERWORK REQUIRED
Rove's long-stay packages start at AED4,999 per month and go up to AED14,999 per month, all taxes included. Payment is made at the start of each month, and no extra documentation is necessary. "Terms and limitations apply as with any hotel stay of any length," Leigh noted.
AVAILABLE OFFICE SPACE FOR RENT
Long-term guests can also rent office space. Some Premier Inn locations have individual conference rooms, while Rove has shared seating areas. Hotel apartment tenants frequently use a part of the living room as a temporary workspace. Improved broadband services are supplied to help with work and provide an environment where they are always connected online.
