Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly announced new directives regarding residential buildings in four governorates, the Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy said in May 10th statement.
The new decisions include suspending all new buildings and building height permits for six months. This will be applied in Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia, and Alexandria.
Shaarawy noted that the decision is applicable to residential buildings only. He excluded industrial, tourism buildings, as well as government and national facilities.
The minister urged issuing building permits for citizens in other governorates and cities.
